Libeskind has drawn a tremendous amount of inspiration fromnatural geologicalformsincluding crystals, gems and natural rock formations. For theMoroso collection, the design is informed by theasymmetrical faceteddesign of gems to create both a sculpture piece for the home or office and connect to Libeskind’s large oeuvre. The collection represents a synergy between the complex geometries of Libeskind and the well-known expertise of Moroso.

Gemma armchair was developed around the idea ofcontrastand theexperiencederived from the perception of a shape opposite of the usual image. The multi-faceted profile is both reminiscent of a precious stone and the typical geometries offifteenth century tapestries. The sharp asymmetry of its three-dimensional geometry contrasts the softness of the upholstery.
